McCann London's latest campaign for Xbox is all about the platform's 'learning tier', where audio commentary adds education to popular games such as Minecraft, Sea of Thieves and Microsoft Flight Simulator.
For example, in PowerWash Simulator, players jet wash a Mars rover while learning about its history and the solar system. You can listen to Learning Layer on Xbox or listen to the audio on Spotify, and it will be accessible to 67 schools across the UK through our partnership with Digital Schoolhouse.
The campaign kicks off with a five-minute explainer film on Xbox Channel and YouTube featuring psychologists and educationists to convince you that gaming is good for you. There are also first-hand testimonies from children themselves who were delighted with their new “ninja teacher”.
said Michael Flatt, Xbox EMEA Marketing Director. “At Xbox, we believe in the power of games to inspire and educate. Beyond Xbox: Field Trips is a testament to this belief and shows the innovation that comes when entertainment and education come together. This initiative not only highlights the positive impact of video games, but also underscores our commitment to leveraging technology for educational purposes.”
Rob Duvall, co-CCO at McCann London, said: “I'm extremely proud of the team behind this idea, which has the potential to have a huge impact on gaming and education. We imagine we'll start seeing similar 'learning layers' across all forms of technology.” I am. ”
There is no doubt that technology has a role to play in learning, and gamification is making its way into Singapore's libraries and literature. But this project is also a good ploy to get parents into the game.
