The rise of artificial intelligence is an interesting and hotly debated topic in the technology industry.
Some fear that the advances in technology that will allow AI to flourish will make their jobs redundant or, in the worst-case scenario, take over the world like SkyNet. terminator series – some consider the possibilities such a rise would bring to society.
Now, the “godfather of AI,” who you probably know a thing or two about, has issued an alarming warning about the rise of AI.
Professor Jeffrey Hinton resigned from Google last year, admitting he regretted his work in AI.
The technology's pioneers are now warning of what the future holds for AI, and talk about how it could lead to millions of job losses.
Hinton suggested that a universal basic income is needed to reduce the impact of the rise of AI in the labor market.

Speaking on BBC Newsnight, Hinton said: “I certainly believe in universal basic income, but I don't think that's enough because so many people get their self-worth from their work.” Ta.
“Paying everyone a universal basic income will solve the problem of them going hungry and not being able to pay their rent, but it won’t solve the problem of self-esteem.”
He added that he had “consulted with Downing Street” and “advised him that universal basic income was a good idea”.
A former Google technology developer has anxiously suggested that many “mundane jobs” will disappear because AI will simply be able to do it.
He continued, “I'm very concerned about AI taking over many of our everyday jobs, and that would be a good thing.

“It would be great if that led to a huge increase in productivity, which led to a huge increase in wealth, and that wealth was distributed equally, but that’s not the case.
“In the system we live in, wealth will flow to the rich and not to the people who have lost their jobs. I believe that will be very bad for society. “The gap between the two countries will widen further,'' increasing the chances that right-wing populists will be elected. ”
He estimates that “5 to 20 years from now” we will “have a 50-50 chance of having to face an AI takeover,” leading to “extinction-level humankind.” I was worried that this might be the case. Humans have “created a form of intelligence that is superior to biological intelligence…and that is very worrying to us.”
However, not everyone is equally concerned about the rise of AI, with Bill Gates suggesting earlier this year that the technology has its limits.
