BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FL – Florida Institute of Technology is offering two unique and powerful summer education experiences for Florida high school teachers where participants can enhance their instruction with hands-on learning and STEM-based principles .
The five-day program will be held simultaneously June 3-7 (checkout June 8) on or near the Florida Institute of Technology campus in Melbourne.
The cost is $3,250 per person, including housing and meals. A meal-only package costs $3,000 per person.

FutureCosmos Educator Workshop: Sponsored by the Florida Institute of Technology's Ortega Telescope Team (telescope pictured above), this immersive workshop invites educators to incorporate space science, astrophotography, data analysis, and interpretation into their own teaching. This is ideal for secondary science teachers, astronomy enthusiasts, and educators looking to enrich their classrooms with hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences centered around space science.
Participants will embark on a celestial journey into astronomy and astrophysics with engaging ways to engage students, including interactive stargazing sessions, problem-solving activities, and exploration of archived/public observational data that anyone can download and process. experience.
They will be exposed to astrophotography and use data analysis with hands-on experience interpreting astronomical datasets.
Brevard Public Schools Board of Education Chairman Matt Sussin said participants in the university's first STEM workshop last year saw immediate and long-term benefits.
“Florida Tech has put together an incredible, unique summer STEM teacher development program for Florida educators,” Sussin said.
