The Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting announces the 2023-2024 Student of the Year Awards for each major in the department: Accounting, Finance, and International Business and Economics. Students graduating in the 2023-2024 academic year were eligible to receive this award. Faculty members from each field selected the winners.
Anna Brull is the recipient of the 2023-2024 Accounting Student of the Year Award. Anna plans to graduate with a BBA degree in Accounting and Finance in May 2024. She is from Hays and graduated from Hays High School. After Anna graduated, she took a job as an accounting analyst at Koch Industries in Wichita.
David Schulte is the recipient of the 2023-2024 Finance Student of the Year Award. David graduated in December 2023 with a BBA degree, majoring in Finance with an emphasis in Economics. He also completed minors in Banking and Kansas Insurance Certificate. He was a native of Sedgwick and graduated from Halstead High School. David works at his FDIC in Hayes.
The 2023-2024 International Business Economics Award winner is Luciana Mendoza. She Luciana plans to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in International Business and Economics in May 2024. She is from Lambare, Paraguay. After Luciana graduates, she will take a full-time position as a business specialist in the FHSU Global Affairs Office.
