Eli Roth first signed on to direct in 2015, with The Last of Us showrunner Craig Mazin set to co-write the screenplay. According to IGN, Mazin “has no connection to the pseudonym Joe Crombie.” Later, Mazin admitted as much to Variety. The co-creator of The Last of Us said in a statement: “As I am not credited as a screenwriter on the film, I cannot claim any authorship for Borderlands, much less co-write it. “We cannot claim that there is,” he said. “I did see reports about a fake name, but it's false. I didn't use a fake name. If the name in question is indeed a fake name, all I can say is… it's not mine, That's all.”
“It was an interesting experience to be part of the reshoots for a movie that wasn't mine. It was a liberating experience that made me feel like I'm just here to help wherever I can,” Miller told Collider. Told. “But my main reason, other than having a huge love for the video game industry, is that I want to see every video game animated successfully. To be honest, Cate Blanc I wanted to work with Shet. I wanted to work with Kevin. [Hart] And Jamie Lee Curtis. And Ariana Greenblatt, the young woman who plays Tiny Tina, who everyone knows from the Barbie movies, is amazing. So it was a great experience all around. She was a little rusty so she was happy to be back in the saddle. The movie gets up and moves. The ride is comfortable. ”
Cate Blanchett stars as Lilith, along with Kevin Hart (Roland), Jack Black (Claptrap), Florian Munteanu (Krieg), and Ariana Greenblatt (Tiny Tina).
”[Claptrap is] It's cool, it's fun, it's a bit of a turn-on, and it's another chance to bring great video games to the silver screen,” Black told GamesRadar+, describing the character as “an R-rated R2-D2.” “We're in the middle of a video game movie renaissance right now, and I'm excited to be a part of it.”
Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Dr. Tanith, once described Borderlands as “badonkadonk madness” in an interview with Total Film.
