EA Sports is one step closer to launching its new “College Football 25” video game.
The company has unveiled two jackets for the highly anticipated college football game, which will be released on July 19th.
Colorado two-way player Travis Hunter, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers and Michigan running back Donovan Edwards are featured on the standard edition cover. On the cover of the deluxe edition, three players emerge from a tunnel with their backs to the camera, along with dozens of other players from other schools.
“College Football 25” will be EA Sports' first NCAA football game since 2013, but the company has been accused in a lawsuit of using player likenesses without paying players, and the “NCAA Football” series has been closed to EA Sports. That's because it was cancelled. In 2021, the NCAA approved allowing players to profit from their name, image and likeness, paving the way for EA Sports to create a new college football game.
The game features 134 FBS schools. EA Sports offered his FBS players his $600 and a copy of the game to use their likeness in-game, and over 11,000 players accepted.
Hunter, Ewers, and Edwards are the first active college athletes to become cover athletes in video game history. Hunter has emerged as a two-way star under Colorado State head coach Deion Sanders, Ewers helped lead Texas to the College Football Playoff last season and Donovan Edwards is a star for the defending national champions at the University of Michigan. He became a player.
As part of the cover reveal, EA Sports announced Friday that it will be releasing a complete look at College Football 25.
“College Football 25” is now available for pre-order on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
