When a sports video game is released (like NBA 2k or the popular NFL game Madden), one of the biggest discussions and topics surrounding the game is player ratings. With EA College Football back after his decade-plus hiatus, college football fans and players have had the opportunity to speculate on what ratings certain players will be.
Fortunately for Oklahoma State, they happen to have one of the best running backs in the nation and one of the most dominant players in college football. Ollie Gordon won the Doak Walker Award a season ago, proving his dominance at the running back position.
Ahead of the video game's release this summer, Oklahoma State University football's social media team asked the team a question. What do players rate themselves and what do they expect to see as their best attributes?
Mr. Gordon answered simply. He feels he should be considered one of the best players in college football, and rightly so. He finished seventh in Heisman voting during the 2023 season.
“I think my overall rating will be 99,” Gordon insisted. “The best attribute? Power”
Most players try to sell themselves with a higher overall rating than they deserve out of pure confidence, but Gordon has a chance to be part of the club's 99th overall rating. He had 1,732 rushing yards, 21 touchdowns and 2,062 all-purpose yards a season ago.
The Cowboys' roster next season is studded with other stars, and their ratings will be displayed in the video game. The trio of Colin Oliver, Nick Martin, and Kendall Daniels will each earn high overall grades and ratings in video games, and the Cowboys' offense as a whole will also receive consistently high ratings.
