NFL: The Washington Commanders announced Monday that they learned of a civil court lawsuit filed against kicker Brandon McManus last week.
A spokesman for the team said the team is investigating the matter and has spoken with McManus' representative and the NFL office. ESPN reported that two women have filed suit against McManus, alleging that he sexually assaulted them on a charter flight to London last year while he was playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
ESPN reports, citing court documents not yet posted in Duval County's public records database, that the women, identified as Jane Doe I and Jane Doe II, accuse McManus of rubbing up against them during the flight and of the Jaguars failing to supervise McManus or create a safe environment for staff serving the team. They are seeking more than $1 million in damages and are asking for a jury trial, according to ESPN.

Fatal accident: A woman was killed when an out-of-control vehicle struck her during a drag race in Oceana County, Michigan, but she managed to push her 2-year-old daughter to safety seconds before the crash, police said.
The accident happened Sunday in the Silver Lake State Park sand dunes in western Oceana County, about 270 miles (430 kilometers) northwest of Detroit, according to MLive.com.
Police said the driver of a modified Jeep CJ lost control and veered off the race course into spectators, striking another vehicle which then struck spectator Kady Price, 33, of Pearson.
Police said Price pushed her 2-year-old daughter to safety just before she was hit by the car, so she didn't suffer serious or further injuries.
