General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has been awarded a contract to provide cybersecurity services to the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC).
AFCEC operates under the Air Force Facilities and Mission Support Center and oversees Air Force facility design, construction, investment, management, rehabilitation, and physical facility compliance.
The mission order will cost $185 million and require the company to explore new strategies to reduce digital risks to the service's control systems.
Targeted systems include public facility monitoring, airfield control, building automation, and life safety platforms.
The company will leverage its cybersecurity and zero trust expertise across 188 international Air Force installations during the contract period.
“Protecting our nation's operational technology from adversaries is critical to national security,” said GDIT Senior Vice President of Defense. brian sheridan said.
