Industry leaders, policy makers, and cloud and cybersecurity experts recently gathered in Kampala, Uganda for the East Africa Cloud and Cybersecurity Roadshow. The event, held at the Four Points by Sheraton, focused on the dynamic world of cloud computing and cybersecurity.
Organised for the first time in Uganda by African technology accelerator dx5, in partnership with information technology company BUI East Africa, the roadshow is a series of events dedicated to advancing the East African technology landscape. The event featured keynote speeches and sessions by experts from across East Africa, providing deep insights into the latest technology trends and challenges.
Hasmukh Chudasama, BUI's General Manager for East and Southern Africa, delivered a keynote speech entitled “You've been hacked.” What's next? Breach Response Plan. ” During the session, Chudasama outlined the immediate actions organizations should take after a hack, including incident containment, investigation, and communication strategies. Participants learned how to minimize damage and quickly restore operations after a breach.
As cybercriminals increasingly leverage sophisticated AI tools to launch attacks, defenders must adapt their strategies. Panels at the event discussed how organizations can use data stored in the cloud to more effectively detect and neutralize AI-powered cyber threats.
In another session, Allan Lwala, Head of Cybersecurity and Forensics at Xylem Networks, will discuss the evolving role of cybersecurity professionals, the pressing issues facing the field, the most common mistakes professionals make, We discussed the challenges facing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
