Cedars-Sinai has named Stephanie Cohen as its new vice president of government and industry relations. Mr. Cohen will play a key role advocating for health care delivery, research, education and community benefit priorities with local, state and national policymakers.
She replaces Vice President Deborah Carrick, who is retiring after 24 years with Cedars-Sinai.

Mr. Cohen joins Cedars-Sinai from the University of Southern California, where he served as vice president for health policy at Keck Medicine. U.S.C. Prior to working at USC, Cohen served as L.A. County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl's health services deputy, overseeing collaboration with the county's Department of Health Services and the Department of Emergency Medical Services. She previously served as District Director for Kuehl and Deputy District Director for California Congressman Richard Bloom, where she played a key role in creating educational opportunities related to the Affordable Care Act, veterans affairs, and homelessness. Throughout his career, Cohen has navigated legislative spending debates, state legislative policy negotiations, and county policy and service development. He also has strong relationships with major healthcare industry organizations such as the American Hospital Association, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the California Hospital Association, and the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
Mr. Cohen graduated from UCLA with a bachelor's degree in political science and is pursuing a law degree from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles.

Mr. Cohen will join Cedars-Sinai on May 13 to lead and expand the business that Mr. Karik has built over more than 20 years.
