miami – CBS Sports Miami hosted a playoff roundtable on the sports desk. CBS Sports Miami's Mike Cunho and Samantha Rivera, as well as Heat Radio host Alejandro Solana and Panthers voice Steve Goldstein, also joined in the conversation.
The Miami Heat and Florida Panthers are preparing to make the playoffs in 2024. Last season, both teams reached the NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Final, respectively.
The Miami Heat will play the 76ers in a play-in game in Philadelphia on Wednesday night to determine the tip of the postseason. Miami finished the season with a record of 46 wins and 36 losses, holding the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. If they win, they will face the second-seeded New York Knicks in the first round of the NBA playoffs. If they lose, they will face the winner of the Bulls-Hawks play-in game. If they win that game, they will advance to play against the top-seeded Boston Celtics, and if they lose, their season will end.
On Saturday, the Florida Panthers earned a home victory over the Buffalo Sabres. They will conclude the regular season on Tuesday night at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Cats will host either the Maple Leafs or the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round of the playoffs next weekend.
