According to a social media post from the Strongsville Police Department, Jacob Paxton, 27, was arrested Thursday and charged with theft, a first-degree felony.
Fifty-two of the 54 missing cards were recovered from a home on Roanoke Avenue in Cleveland. The combined value of the 54 cards is $2,132,477.
The 54-card collection included rare Cracker Jack cards as well as high-quality Mickey Mantle and Roberto Clemente cards.
Police are still investigating the whereabouts of the two missing cards. Police gave this description of the cards:
- Lot 11: 1909 T204 Lumley Walter Johnson PSA 5 Certificate #90586922
- Lot 25: 1941 Playball #14 Ted Williams PSA 8 NM-MT Certificate #05159693
Anyone with information about the two missing cards is asked to call Strongsville Police Department detectives at 440-580-3247 and quote report number 2024-000693.
