There are many moving parts that help the travel industry thrive.
And sometimes one of the most important players gets overlooked.
Isn't it a great privilege to be able to travel around the world, experience different cultures, and try new things?
It would not have been so possible without the outstanding work of airline pilots.
Becoming a pilot is not an easy job. Training can sometimes be difficult and intense. The FAA also requires 1,500 flight hours. This is not something you can quickly learn and start flying passengers around the world.
The industry has been suffering from a pilot shortage, but thankfully things are looking up on that front.
The Airline Pilots Association announced last week that the pilot shortage is stabilizing.
This is a huge win for the travel industry. The shortage was a contributing factor to a period of travel disruption in recent years. All that remains is for the air traffic controller shortage to become more stable, and that would really improve the air travel experience.
So the next time you fly, thank every pilot you meet. They help us all see the world, and isn't that a beautiful thing?
