If you want something that will keep you entertained for hundreds of hours or even just an afternoon, this list has those too. This list also includes three games that fans have been waiting for for over a decade. Here's what you can look forward to this month by looking for something new to play with.
animal well
Release date: May 9th
Platform: PC (Steam), PS5, Nintendo Switch
It's the first game published by YouTuber Jason “Dunky” Gustrow's studio Bigmode Games, and it's been the subject of constant buzz ever since the first preview was released. Animal Well features visuals inspired by classic games and platforming action that ranks alongside games like Celeste and Super Meat Boy. Animal Well is full of puzzles, secrets, and demanding platforming.

Fans of Dragon's Dogma 2 thought they'd been waiting a long time when the 2012 game finally released a sequel earlier this year, but fans of the new real-time strategy game have no word. did. Homeworld 2 was released in September 2003, just over 20 years ago. Like its predecessor, Homeworld 3 is a real-time strategy game set in space, where players manage a fleet in her third dimension while battling new threats from the outer reaches of the universe: anomalies.
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II

Duck Detective Secret Salami

Some of the games on this list can take dozens of hours, but sometimes you just want to finish a fun game in an afternoon or two. Duck Detective: Secret Salami promises about two to three hours of silly and endearing mysteries as you interview suspects and gather clues to solve the case. Duck Detective has bright, bold art, is fully voiced, and promises to provide hours of fun when it's released later this month.
Paper Mario Thousand Year Door
Release date: May 23rd
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Sometimes the best games are the ones we know and love. Paper Mario's Thousand Years' Door was released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2004 and remains a beloved addition to both the Paper Mario series and Mario game collection. This remastered version brings the original version to Nintendo Switch, promising updated visuals and music. Gameplay will reportedly run at 30 frames per second compared to the original's 60 frames per second, but we hope this change doesn't affect the classic gameplay too much.

Platform: PC & Mac (Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch, Linux
World of Goo is still a fan favorite more than 15 years later, thanks to its goofy, greasy art style and engaging physics puzzles. The original World of Goo used googly-eyed little balls of goo to create lovingly designed structures that probably didn't live up to anyone's version of the code. did. This new entry promises updated visuals and more puzzles.
