Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has announced plans to build a next-generation AI platform called “Rubin,” named after astronomer Vera Rubin. Layoffs have continued in the technology industry throughout 2024, but May saw a significant drop compared to previous months. According to layoffs.fyi, a website that tracks global job cuts, 39 companies laid off a total of 9,742 employees in May.
