NPCore, Inc. (CEO: Han Seung-cheol), an endpoint and network APT (Advanced Persistent Threat) cybersecurity company, announced today that it signed a business agreement on May 29 with CMC CS (CEO: Ha The Phuong), a leading Vietnamese cybersecurity specialist, to jointly respond to the rapidly increasing cyber attacks in the Vietnamese market.
CMC CS, a subsidiary of CMC Corporation, is a leading cybersecurity company in Vietnam, known for its high-quality products and services in data encryption, web application firewall, anti-virus and centralized malware management services. The company has received numerous local awards and was named one of the Top 10 Information Security Companies in Vietnam by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) in 2023. CMC CS also has operations in Japan and South Korea.
Through this strategic partnership, the two companies aim to protect local businesses and government agencies from cyber attacks by leveraging NPCore's EDR, XDR, CTIP, and network/email APT products as well as the 'K-Cybersecurity Suite' from Korea's leading cybersecurity company.
In March 2024, VNDirect, Vietnam's third-largest securities broker, was hit by a cyber attack that cut off its trading systems and temporarily caused trading volume on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HSX) to fall by 10%. The incident highlighted the importance of cybersecurity.
NPCore will open a local branch in Hanoi (CEO Dung Tran) from 2021, and will provide EDR security solutions to Sky Lake, Vietnam's largest golf resort, from 2022.
At the signing ceremony for the business agreement, NPCore Chief Strategy Officer David Sehyeon Baek said, “There are currently approximately 9,000 Korean companies in Vietnam across various sectors, including electronics, textiles, real estate and finance, and protecting the cybersecurity of these companies has become an urgent issue. We believe that this partnership with CMC CS, which provides high-quality services and excellent security products and networks in Vietnam, is a great opportunity to contribute to the protection of Korean companies, local major companies and Vietnamese government agencies with Korean security technology.”
