On May 29th, 1999, one of the worst video games of all time was released.
Superman: The New Superman Adventures (commonly known as: Superman 64) had a rocky development, with Warner Bros. and DC Comics constantly at odds with Titus over the game's direction.
Despite some positive pre-release press and, some people forget, some decent early sales, the game was panned by critics, slammed for technical issues, shoddy controls, and below-average visuals. In the years that followed, the game has repeatedly topped “worst games” lists from various publications and websites.
Titus handed the game over to Blue Sky Software to be ported to the PlayStation 1, but plans were scrapped when the company's contracts with Warner Bros. and DC Comics expired in 2000.
