HONOLULU (KHON2) — In an effort to provide relief to Maui residents affected by wildfires nearly a year ago, Alaska Airlines has launched a travel gift program.

Families facing the aftermath of disasters will receive reprieve through the program, starting with charter flights to California in July.
“It is important for Hawaii residents to be able to travel. Travel brings us together. I continue to have the opportunity to visit Maui to share our grief with and provide support to wildfire survivors. ” said Governor Josh Green. By providing families affected by wildfires the opportunity to have fun and bond over these shared experiences, we foster recovery and resilience. This initiative, made possible by the generosity of Alaska Airlines and its partners, exemplifies the spirit of aloha and our commitment to supporting the well-being of our communities. ”
Alaska Airlines has partnered with Marriott and Disney to provide families with flights, hotel stays, and Disney tickets.
In addition, the airline is committed to offering 180 round-trip tickets to any Alaska Airlines destination each month until the program ends in 2025.
Alaska Airlines CEO Ben Minicucci said the airline plans to continue the support through the end of 2025, providing the equivalent of about 3,000 flights per month.
The initiative aims to allow those affected to visit family, enjoy holidays or simply find mental reprieve from recent challenges.

Eligible Maui residents can apply for the program through the Council for the Advancement of Native Hawaiians website, with verification based on direct impact confirmed through FEMA or Red Cross numbers.
