Airbus to strengthen cybersecurity with acquisition of new company
An acquisition agreement between an IT and cybersecurity company and multinational aerospace company Airbus will strengthen Airbus' portfolio and prepare it for a future that requires better critical infrastructure security.
Airbus Defense and Space will acquire German cybersecurity and IT company INFODAS in a new deal expected to be finalized by the end of the year, subject to regulatory approval.
INFODAS specializes in IT and cybersecurity solutions for the public sector, including critical infrastructure and defence, making it an ideal acquisition for Airbus to strengthen its portfolio and offer new solutions to its existing customer base.
INFODAS is a strong and well-established organization with approximately 250 employees, headquarters in Cologne, Berlin, Bonn, Hamburg, Munich and Mainz, and annual revenues of approximately 50 million euros, and is certified by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). and has been certified. SDoT Security Gateway products are approved at classification levels up to classified level, making them ideal for Airbus' space and defense customer base.
The latest acquisition deal builds on Airbus' commitment to strengthen its cybersecurity portfolio “for the benefit of our European and global customers,” the company said.
