AirAsia today proudly announces the launch of its seventh airline, AirAsia Cambodia (flight code KT), which not only marks a significant step forward in the country's aviation industry but also expands into a vibrant aviation hub. This indicates that ASEAN will be strengthened as a nation.
AirAsia Cambodia is scheduled to begin operations on Thursday, May 2, 2024, following the handover of its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) on Tuesday. Initially with two Airbus A320 aircraft, the airline will operate from its bustling hub at Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH), connecting travelers to the iconic cities of Siem Reap and Sihanoukville, as well as Kuala Lumpur. It connects travelers via hubs in Lumpur and Bangkok.
The launch of this new airline is an important milestone for AirAsia Group, which recently announced its “ONE Airlines'' strategy. As a group, AirAsia operates a total of six routes to Cambodia from Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok and has carried 1.3 million guests to Cambodia to date. AirAsia Cambodia plans to announce international destinations in the next quarter after carefully assessing demand and market trends.
