“We're going to Florida for Memorial Day weekend,” said Mauser Portnow, whose family flew out of Burlington's Patrick Leahy Airport on Wednesday before the travel rush.
Portnow said he was looking forward to spending the holiday weekend with his loved ones.
“And we get to see our cousins. So we're all really looking forward to it,” she said.
Meanwhile, other travelers are heading to our area, including Mike Weber and his family, who headed north for the holidays.
“I'm having a family gathering in Maine in a few days, so I'd like to start in the north and then move south to Vermont and New Hampshire, taking a few days to see everything,” Weber said.
