A video game that could make the HOF in Rochester, New York

In the past, it was considered a “waste of time” to park in front of the TV and play your favorite video game for hours.

Decades later, some influencers are making millions of dollars streaming their games on Twitch. Not to mention launching thousands of careers in video game design, direction, audio, and countless other fields.

Several prestigious universities across the United States offer degree programs and courses in video game design and development (see, mom? We was (I'm doing my homework!) Even many of us who aren't in the gaming industry still have a PS3 or Xbox hooked up in our basements to help us de-stress after a long day.

That's why we love seeing which iconic video games are being considered for inclusion in this world. World Video Game Hall of Fame. Which games will take the honors this year?

Selected as a 2024 finalist in the World Video Game Hall of Fame

As you may know, Strong National Play Museum Because one of them is the famous National Toy Hall of Fame in Rochester, New York.

But what you may not realize is that the Strong Museum is also home to the World Video Game Hall of Fame, and has been bringing games to its halls since 2014.

The Video Game HOF received thousands of nominations from the public for the Class of 2024, and gamers can now vote for their favorite games. As part of the “Player's Choice” poll on the website. The three games that received the most votes will form one ballot and join other ballots submitted by the Museum's International Selection Advisory Committee.

For a video game to be considered for the Hall of Fame, it must meet the following criteria:

• Icon status: This game is widely recognized, respected and remembered
• longevity: This toy is not just a fad, it's timeless.
• Geographical scope: The game meets the above criteria across borders
• Impact: This game has had a significant impact on the design and development of other games, other forms of entertainment, or popular culture and society in general.

The winning game joins iconic past Hall of Famers including: Pon, Wii sports, grand theft autoand oregon trail As a member of the World Video Game Hall of Fame.
