Passwordless systems increase security by eliminating the transmission of user secrets over the network, and Burkhardt says maintaining an accurate inventory of applications is paramount to effectively implementing passwordless. says Mr.
“If you want to go passwordless, you need an identity provider that supports passwordless. You need an authentication method like Hello for Business or a mobile phone authentication app,” he said. “For all applications to support it, they must be configured. Any old password prompts present in the applications must be removed. They must be integrated with an identity provider. Their configuration files must be To do all of this, you need to know where the application is and who owns it.
In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at RSA Conference 2024, Burkhardt also said:
- The role of change management in increasing user confidence in passwordless authentication.
- Implement an app proxy that supports passwordless.
- The potential for generative AI to facilitate rapid malware analysis and enhance cybersecurity.
