Since 2015, the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York, has inducted the game into its own World Video Game Hall of Fame. This list currently includes many of the obvious titles like Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man, Pong, and The Sims, as well as titles you may have missed, including some of the best and most beloved of all time. Includes some of the titles available. Barbie's Fashion Designer and the Giant Cave Adventure.
The museum has compiled all 40 entries into the World Video Game Hall of Fame since the Hall of Fame began in 2015.
The latest shortlist for 2024 includes Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Ultima, Guitar Hero, Asteroids, SimCity, and more. This year's Hall of Fame inductees will be announced at his May ceremony. We will add them here as soon as they are announced.
But what does it take to be inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame? The Strong Museum notes that inductees have been of “long-term popularity” and have had an impact on the video game industry, popular culture, and society in general. Says. Winners will be voted on by a panel of experts in the video game field.
