Sports fans love to travel.
The annual March Madness college basketball tournament is a stark reminder of how much they love to travel.
Opening games in Charlotte, Spokane, Memphis, Salt Lake City, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Brooklyn and Omaha will draw tourists looking to spend their money all weekend.
Regional games will be held in Boston, Dallas, Detroit and Los Angeles. Depending on which teams advance to the Sweet 16, these cities could also see a significant boost in tourism this March.
This year's Final Four will be held in Glendale, Arizona, just outside Phoenix. Championship matches are always packed with spectators.
The women's tournament will include regional games in Albany, New York and Portland, Oregon, with Final Four weekend in Cleveland.
And of course, let's not forget Las Vegas, which is home to major sporting events. Given the length of the tournament over several weeks, March Madness is always a win for Las Vegas.
That opening weekend is often on many sports fans' travel wish lists to experience Las Vegas at least once. Games begin Thursday and run through Sunday night of opening weekend. Las Vegas offers sports fans plenty of fun day and night.
