Cybersecurity experts at the Security Service of Ukraine are actively working to block the supply of components for Russian weapons, including parts for the production of Shahid drones and microchips for cruise missiles.
Ilya Vityuk, head of the SSU's Cybersecurity Department, revealed these efforts during a television broadcast.
“We are disrupting the supply chain of parts for Russian weapons. One example is the sabotage of servo motors used in the production of 1,600 Shahed drones and 4,000 microchips for cruise missiles,” he said. It can be mentioned.”
In addition, Vityuk explained that cyber experts are engaged in front-line operations to neutralize enemy electronic warfare and reconnaissance systems and intercept enemy drones coordinating missile and artillery fire against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to Vityuk, the information collected by the cybersecurity department helps prevent human harm and thwart cyberattacks. He cited an incident in which Russian intelligence intercepted messages to determine the exact time and location of a military rally, resulting in casualties. He emphasized that it will bring about
In the past two years of full-scale conflict, the SSU has repelled nearly 10,000 cyberattacks, most of them thwarted in their early stages. These attacks had a variety of objectives, including reconnaissance, destruction, psychological manipulation, or a combination thereof.
Vityuk predicted an intensification of Russian cyber attacks, but reminded that the SSU conducts its own cyber operations, countering adversaries in the digital domain and targeting various military assets.
