The kick-off of the Women's Super League title clash between Chelsea and Arsenal was delayed by 30 minutes due to a uniform clash.
Arsenal's 7pm start was delayed as away team Arsenal had to change into black socks bought at Chelsea's club shop at Stamford Bridge.
The Gunners were warming up in white socks, but they clashed with Chelsea's home kit.
The black socks Arsenal wore had blue trim and appeared to have been purchased at Chelsea's club shop. Arsenal players had to wear tape covering the Chelsea badge in the middle of their socks.
Chelsea wore blue shirts, blue pants and blue socks during their comeback win against the Emirates in January. However, Arsenal appeared to have forgotten about the switch, with officials not realizing it until shortly before kick-off.
Arsenal were unable to change their own socks and had to wear Chelsea's away socks.
Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright posted on Twitter/X during the postponement: That's ridiculous. “
The London rivals were scheduled to kick off at 7pm on Friday night, but the start of the game has been postponed to 7.30pm, according to a statement.
The game was a key match of the season, with more than 30,000 people buying tickets for a chance to clinch the WSL title.
In the WSL title race, Chelsea lead Arsenal by three points, with Manchester City in second place, behind them only on goal difference.
In October, Arsenal's men wore a different color of their red socks, along with the rest of their home kit, during a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
