Swedish furniture giant IKEA is entering the video game space with the release of “The Co-Worker Game” on Roblox.
IKEA plans to release The Co-Worker Game on June 24, 2024. According to a press release on ikea.com, players will be able to “experience working in the virtual world of IKEA, where fans can create the furniture of their dreams and earn rewards. A limited number of paid roles will be available.”
However, there is one condition: only 10 people will be recruited as paying players for the game, and applicants must be based in the UK. However, Roblox gamers from all over the world can play the IKEA game.

- Applications will be accepted until June 16th.
- There are 10 paid jobs available.
- Those selected will be able to help customers, get promoted, or move to another department, just like in the real world.
- Unpaid Roblox players will work alongside paid players in a virtual IKEA store on Roblox.
- Virtual interviews for shortlisted applicants will take place between June 14th and 18th.
- Successful applicants will be paid £13.15 (US$16.82) per hour.
- Paying players must be over 18 years old and reside in the UK.
