Emmy Award-winning travel show is filming in Ireland. Season 7 of “Bare Feet” starring Michela Mallozzi will give millions of people across the U.S. the opportunity to experience Irish culture through their television screens.
Miquela is a dancer, producer and host of a series that travels the world exploring the cultures and dance traditions of each place she visits.
Michela and her crew are filming snippets for three 30-minute episodes to air on PBS next spring, with filming taking place in the Northwest and Northern Ireland.
Alison Metcalfe, North America director for Tourism Ireland, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase Ireland's beautiful scenery, rich music and dance traditions and some of the things to see and do here to large audiences across the United States.”
In , the crew filmed at the Glens Centre, where members of musical group Kíla taught Miquela how to play the uilleann pipes and other Irish instruments. Filming also took place at the Sligo Oyster Experience, Nancy's Barn in Ballyliffin and Malin Head.
In Northern Ireland, chef Noel McMeel of the Ebrington Hotel garnered attention, as did the new McConnells Distillery and Visitor Experience at Crumlin Road Prison and Oh Yeah Music Centre.
Michela Mallozzi's “Bare Feet” reaches millions across the U.S. with more than 2 million viewers per episode, and the Emerald Isle will be broadcast globally in the hopes of bringing some of that attention back.
