May is packed with a ton of really awesome indie games that you probably aren't aware of. But that's not your fault; there are just too many games to keep track of at the moment. To make sure you don't miss out, we've compiled a little list of the coolest indie games of May that you might not have played yet.
7 great indie games you might miss this May
There were honestly an astonishing number of games released this month, so it's always hard to pick just a few. Hades 2 Although it was featured in the Early Access version, we didn't include it in the list because the only way to get around it is to be trapped in Tartarus with no internet connection.
Abiotic factors
We're starting off with a new take on the survival genre that's both highly entertaining and highly unsettling. Abiotic factors is a survival crafting game that can be played by up to six people. Basically, your only objective in the game is to survive in several different realms while fighting military and paranormal forces. It's a lot of fun to play and Lethal Companythen you'll love this.
1000x Resistors
1000x Resistors This is the type of game that only comes along once every few years. This is a truly phenomenal adventure game, and its story will stay with you for years to come. It's hard to say much about this one without giving away spoilers, but it's a very special sci-fi story, and it's 100% worth playing, even if you ignore everything else on this list. Don't ignore everything else on this list, though.
Gatekeeper
Gatekeeper is an isometric roguelike game where you run through levels gaining more and more power as you try to find the stolen Heart of the Universe. Risk of Rain 2 It's atmospheric in terms of gameplay, progression, visual style and music, and a blast to play, and although it's only just entered Early Access, it's already packed with clever ideas and tweaks that make it well worth your time and effort.
Lorelei and the Laser Eye
There are many types of puzzle games out there, but few can match the depth of this one. Lorelei and the Laser EyeThe game tells the story of a woman who is summoned to a strange building somewhere in central Europe. An unusual character invites her there, and the world begins to warp, shift, and get weirder by the second. It's indescribably clever and visually stunning.
Duck Detective: Secret Salami
It’s hard to resist the temptation to write “phony” over and over again here, but I’ll do my best. Duck Detective: Secret Salami is a really charming detective game where you play as a duck. It's a cute and fairly laid back game, perfect for younger players or those who don't play much. It even has a quacking button, so there's no excuse not to buy it.
Rack and Slay
People have been waiting forever for a roguelike dungeon crawler where you play as a billiard ball, and now the wait is finally over. Sure, the concept is a bit far-fetched, but still… Rack and Slay is a very good roguelike game with lots of replayability, a great sense of humor, and a really unique concept. If you're looking for a fresh take on the roguelike genre, you should definitely give this game a try.
Nine Sol
Nine Sol is a very cool Metroidvania game with a combat system heavily inspired by Sekiro. This means you can expect some very challenging combat with a strong focus on parrying and timing. It's difficult, yes, but it looks great and feels like water when you play it. The game follows a hero on a journey for revenge while cursing the world as it is, so you can expect an epic storyline and a lot of drama in between some very difficult combats.
