College football fans, the EA Sports College Football 25 video game is one step closer to its release on July 19. Click here to pre-order the game.
The video game series returns for the first time since the release of NCAA Football 14 in July 2013, and it's hard to contain the excitement. Anticipation for this video game continues to grow as EA Sports revealed some gameplay on their social media accounts on Friday morning.
I'll be honest, I was put off by the idea of college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit narrating a video game, but I was excited to see the actual gameplay.
The Seminoles got a lot of coverage in the roughly 5 minute reveal, and it was really cool to see Doak Campbell Stadium featured in the game, which I know is undergoing renovations this season but is still one of the best environments in college football.
The trailer was packed with great content for everyone to enjoy. One thing I found interesting was when EA Sports showed off a pass from DJ Uiagalelei to Kyle Morlock. They showed off the Seminoles' projected starting offensive line.
The offensive line was lined up with Darius Washington at left tackle, TJ Ferguson at left guard, Maurice Smith at center, Keyondre Jones at right guard and Jeremiah Byers at right tackle. Overall, this is a fair assessment of what the offensive line will look like.
I think former University of Florida interior offensive lineman transfer Richie Leonard IV could be the starter at right guard, but Jones is a very talented player who could compete for a starting spot after transferring from the Auburn University Tigers two offseasons ago, and I think offensive tackle Robert Scott Jr. could also play if healthy.
Still, I believe offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins can steer this offensive line position unit in the right direction and make the Seminoles offense a threat in the ACC.
