It's been 11 long years, but college football is about to return in console format.
EA Sports NCAA Football 25's gameplay and special features were revealed on Friday to positive reviews, with many reviewers saying the game is “not at all like Madden” and praising the fluidity of the players, especially the ball carriers.
The game will be released on July 19th and will be the first college football video game published by EA Sports since NCAA Football 14, which was released in July 2013.
The game's cover was released earlier this month and featured University of Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, University of Michigan running back Donovan Edwards and University of Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter on the cover.
EA Sports also announced that all 134 Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) teams will be playable in the game. Following the release of the first trailer, EA also announced that many of the game modes that were available in NCAA Football 14 will be available in this year's game, including Team Builder, Road to Glory, and Dynasty.
The game itself features some of the same elements found in the Madden video games, such as a pitch meter, momentum meter, catch meter, and specific ball carrier movements.
The game will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with the deluxe edition set to launch on July 16th, three days before the standard version of the game.
Gamers who purchase the Deluxe Edition will receive three days of early access as well as 4,600 College Football Points to use in the game, and there will also be a bundle available to pre-order both EA Sports College Football 25 and Madden NFL 25.
