PARKERSBURG — After more than seven hours of testimony, the Wood County Board of Education voted 5-0 Thursday night to not renew Finance Director Justin Bosley's probationary contract.
Bosley had been in the position for just over a year.
On April 12, 2023, the board voted 4-1 to approve Bosley as the new finance director and treasurer, replacing previous finance director Whitni Kinnes, with Director Ron Tice voting against.
Bosley attended a board meeting in August 2023 to request additional staffing to ease the workload facing his office. At that time, the board approved the creation of a professional accountant, changing the position of Secretary III/Auditor/Buyer to Secretary III/Treasurer III and reinstating the position of assistant director of finance.
The board then approved Kaylee Littman as deputy finance director in October 2023. She was selected by the board to serve as interim finance director on March 13, 2024. At Tuesday's regular board meeting, the board resolved to align her salary with that of the finance director for the period March 7, 2024 to June 30, 2024, as an additional role with a stepped-up salary.
Board chairman Justin Reiber said the position will be advertised next week.
