TUCSON, Ariz. (13News) – Memorial Day travel delays and detours are expected for many people travelling in and out of Southern Arizona.
The weather in Tucson may be nice, but A little warmHowever, the storm has caused disruptions to travel between cities.
“We were delayed 20 minutes when we left Chicago because we had some pretty bad weather in the Atlanta area,” said Robert Nemitz, a Tucson resident. “We've had some bad weather across the country. There was a tornado in Chicago last night.”

“Luckily, our flight from Atlanta to Tucson wasn't delayed, we just escaped the bad weather coming from there, but everyone was delayed and there were an awful lot of people standing around,” Nemitz said.

“I always pack a change of clothes in my carry-on bag so that if something happens to my checked luggage, at least I have something to change into,” says traveler Roy McGuire. “I'm not stranded in a strange place with no change of clothes or toiletries.”
TIA also recommends arriving at the airport a little earlier than usual to allow time to get back home in case security lines are long.
