WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. (WWLP) – Many air travelers are expected to take to the skies over Memorial Day weekend, with Bradley International Airport preparing for the departure of more than 65,000 passengers between now and May 29th.
These numbers are only slightly higher than travel volumes last year. The busiest days for travel are expected to be Friday and Saturday between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m., meaning long lines and delays are possible. A spokesperson for Bradley International Airport advises travelers to plan ahead and arrive at the airport early.
“The trend over the past few months, which we've seen over the April holidays and Thanksgiving, is more people traveling both domestically and locally, and we're seeing an overall increase in the number of people flying,” said Brian Spiros, spokesman for Bradley International Airport.
Following TSA guidelines on what to pack in your carry-on baggage and checking parking availability can also help make your trip more comfortable. We also recommend checking your flight status and contacting your airline in case there are any changes.
