More than 90 small business representatives attended the 2024 Southeast Oklahoma Procurement Support Event held May 16 at Kiamichi Technical College McAlester.
The event provided Kiamichi Tech APEX Accelerator clients with an opportunity to meet and connect with government contracting officers and buyers.
“Companies could register to speak to government buyers in a short session, introduce themselves, explain their capabilities, ask questions about the agency's buying potential, and look for sales leads to do business with the agency in the future,” said Ron DeGiacomo, Kiamichi Tech APEX accelerator coordinator.
Representatives from over 20 government agencies attended the event and had the opportunity to receive a brief overview of the types of contracting opportunities available before participating in one-on-one sessions with business owners.
“This matching event is great for small businesses that want to learn more about working with government agencies,” said Bill Moskwa of AERO Component Repair, LLC in Durant. “I received a lot of advice from the people I talked to, and I look forward to benefiting from those conversations.”
