Small Business Administration (SBA) Proposed Rule: Updates and Clarifications for the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contracting Program
On May 16, the SBA released a proposed rulemaking that would change SBA's WOSB program rules, including adding definitions to existing rules and aligning the rules with current law. The rulemaking would also adopt language similar to that used in SBA's other government contracting program rules regarding the period a business must wait before reapplying for the WOSB program and limitations on outside employment. Department of Defense (DOD) Notice and Request for Comment: Adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Defense Applications in the Defense Industrial Base (DIB)
On May 22, the Department of Defense issued a notice and request for comment on steps the DIB can take to ensure the continued adoption of AI for defense applications. Public feedback is intended to help the Department of Defense develop policies, initiatives, and resource allocations to ensure support for the DIB as it integrates AI into defense systems.
