BARCELONA, Spain and SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 23, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — FC Barcelona and Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT), a global leader in cybersecurity driving the convergence of networking and security, have signed a sponsorship agreement that will see Fortinet become the new official cybersecurity partner of Espai Barça for the next three seasons until June 30, 2028. As part of the agreement, FC Barcelona will leverage Fortinet's industry-leading Security Fabric platform, a global benchmark for technological innovation in the world of sports and entertainment, to enable a secure digital environment at the Spotify Camp Nou facility.
The partnership between the club and Fortinet is part of a sponsorship program related to the future Spotify Camp Nou and is made possible thanks to the common goal of integrating the most innovative technological systems into the future stadium. Ta. FC Barcelona is committed to transforming Espai Barça into an international hub of innovation at the forefront of new technologies. In this sense, the partnership reaffirms the club's commitment to partnering with leading companies and integrating the most innovative technologies into the new stadium.
This partnership represents a new opportunity for a sponsorship program created specifically for one of the most important projects in the Club's history, which will open up new opportunities for both companies selling directly to consumers (B2C) and, as in the case of Fortinet, those focused on the business sector (B2B), leveraging the global visibility and prestige of FC Barcelona and the importance of what will become one of the world's leading stadiums.
Cybersecurity improves visitor and user experience
As part of the agreement, FC Barcelona will deploy Fortinet's Security Fabric platform, including FortiGate next-generation firewalls, to secure the stadium's Wi-Fi, OT infrastructure, and data center. Fortinet's Zero Trust network access and endpoint security protects users and devices accessing applications from anywhere. Additionally, centralized management with AI-powered security analytics provides comprehensive network visibility. These technologies will integrate seamlessly with FC Barcelona's existing IT investments, improving security and efficiency across the Spotify Camp Nou.
