Freetown, Sierra Leone: May 9, 2024 – The European Union Delegation to Sierra Leone and EU Member States in Freetown (Team Europe), in collaboration with the Government of Sierra Leone, is proud to announce the launch of the EU-Sierra Leone Bus Tour 2024.
The launch event, held at the National Charter Office in Freetown, was attended by Kenyan Varley, Minister for Development and Economy, EU Ambassador Manuel Müller, Irish Ambassador Aidan Fitzpatrick, and German Chargé d'Affaires Patrick Gerzon. Did.
The EU-Sierra Leone Bus Tour was launched on Europe Day, 9 May 2024. The two-week bus tour will visit several parts of the country and showcase the concrete impact of projects jointly implemented by Team Europe and our Sierra Leonean partners. Starting from Freetown on 10 May and concluding in Waterloo on 23 May, the tour will highlight the achievements of the strong partnership between the EU, Freetown's member states (Germany, Ireland and France) and Sierra Leone, aimed at improving the lives of the Sierra Leonean people.
Manuel Muller, European Union Ambassador to Sierra Leone, shared his enthusiasm for the initiative, saying: “The EU-Sierra Leone Bus Tour 2024 is committed to promoting sustainable development in Sierra Leone and empowering local communities, especially women and youth, through joint efforts to support green economy, agriculture and food systems. It embodies commitment.

One of the interactive aspects of the trip will be for participants to engage directly with beneficiaries of development projects in different areas such as Loko Port, Kambia, Makeni, Bombali, Kono, Bo, Pujehun, Kenema, Kailahun, Moyamba and Waterloo.
