The nominees for this year's class of the World Video Game Hall of Fame were announced Wednesday morning at the Strong National Museum of Performing Arts.

- Tokimeki Memorial
- tony hawk pro skater
- Altima: Altima
- you don't know jack
Three or four of these games will be named winners later this year.
Each year, the World Video Game Hall of Fame selects finalists for each class from thousands of nominations. Fans can also vote for their choice as the winner of their favorite finalist in March as part of the “Player's Choice” voting.
According to The Strong, the games that receive the most public votes will form one ballot, and will be chosen by an international selection advisory committee made up of journalists and academics knowledgeable about the history of video games and their role in society. It said it was combined with other ballots submitted by members.
As in previous years, games were judged based on four categories.
- Icon status: the game is widely recognized and remembered
- Longevity: This game is not a fad, it's timeless.
- Geographical scope: The game meets the above criteria across borders
- Influence: This game has had a significant impact on the design or development of other games, other forms of entertainment, or popular culture and society in general.
