If you're planning a well-deserved vacation outside of the city this summer, we wish you safe travels. If you need medical care while you're out and about, here are some tips shared by the University of California Health Plan on how to get the care you need.
Remember: Your UC Health Plan is there for you if you or a family member you cover needs emergency treatment. Use emergency services anytime, anywhere. Once your condition has stabilized, you or your doctor should contact your health plan to let them know you have been treated and to coordinate any needed follow-up care.
UC PPO Plans: CORE, UC Care, UC Health Savings Plan
If you need non-emergency medical care while traveling within the United States, please contact Accolade Care or We provide in-person care throughout the United States through our Blue Card program. Outside the United States, Call the Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Core (BCBSGC) Service Center. Kaiser HMO
Kaiser HMO members across the U.S. can receive care 24/7 from Kaiser Permanente clinicians over the phone or online, and are constantly tracked in their electronic medical record. Sign in to your kp.org account to find the care that's right for you and see what care options are available to you.
You may also receive routine care at another Kaiser Permanente facility while you are traveling. Just remember to create a new medical record number for the area you are visiting. Be sure to get your services before you travel, as routine services will not be provided outside of Kaiser Permanente areas.
For non-emergency medical conditions, you can visit any urgent care facility in the United States. Visit his website at Kaiser for emergency treatment options that do not require reimbursement.
For emergency treatment outside the United States, call 1-888-859-0880 (Northern California members) or 1-800-225-8883 (Southern California members) when your condition is stable. Please let Kaiser know and help decide what to do. Please do it next time.

UC Blue & Gold HMO
If you receive emergency medical treatment while traveling outside of the UC Blue & Gold HMO service area, be sure to notify and tell your primary care physician (PCP) as soon as possible. You will need to be referred to your PCP for follow-up care.
For non-emergency care, UC Blue & Gold HMO offers 24/7 virtual care through Teladoc. You may also receive treatment at a walk-in urgent care clinic (if possible, contact your doctor first) or at a CVS MinuteClinic.
For reimbursement for treatment received outside of California or the United States, please download our claim form. Be sure to obtain a billing statement and available medical records from the facility or health care provider and submit them with your claim.
