ATLANTA — U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff is on a mission to enhance cybersecurity job training opportunities for students in metro Atlanta.
On Monday, Senator Ossoff announced that he is providing federal resources to strengthen Clark Atlanta University's Center for Cybersecurity Leadership.

This is expected to increase career opportunities in the cybersecurity field and increase opportunities for HBCU students.
“I dedicated funds to strengthen Clark Atlanta University's Cybersecurity Leadership Center to help Clark Atlanta students prepare for rewarding and well-paying cybersecurity careers,” said Senator Ossoff. Stated. “I would like to thank Clark Atlanta President Dr. George T. French Jr. for bringing this proposal to my office and for his leadership in the community.”
Ossoff's office said CAU plans to use the federal funding to enhance its current cybersecurity curriculum and give students and faculty more access to cybersecurity software and training programs.
Republicans and Democrats, working with Sen. Raphael Warnock, have come together to provide $500,000 for the project through this year's bipartisan government funding package.
“I would like to thank Senator Ossoff for his continued support of his office,” said President French. “Through our collaboration with IBM, Clark Atlanta University is preparing students for fast-growing career paths in cybersecurity across Georgia in advance of the creation of the Cybersecurity Leadership Center. Our joint efforts will not only expand the diversity of the cyber workforce, but also strengthen the curriculum and provide individuals with cutting-edge tools to combat cyber threats. Together, we will strengthen the academic community. and expand our reach to empower the broader community.”

It is imperative that we prepare cybersecurity majors to enter the U.S. cyber workforce and excel in this field,” said Dr. Olugbemiga Olatidoye, professor/coordinator of the Dual Degree Engineering Program (DDEP).
