Today's cybersecurity professionals face their own challenges. From AI and phishing attacks to remote work and mobile security, the threat landscape is constantly evolving, and research shows there aren't enough cybersecurity professionals to adequately address these threats. Masu.
Furthermore, data from the latest ISC2 Cybersecurity Workforce Survey shows that nearly 70% of cybersecurity professionals believe inclusion is essential to their team's success. The existing cybersecurity field is mostly white and male. According to estimates, women currently make up just 22% of Europe's cybersecurity workforce.
That's where we come in. In April 2024, Geng pledged the European Commission's Digital Skills and Jobs Platform to help close the gender gap in technology and train more women to succeed in cybersecurity. I signed the document. Through our long-standing partnership with Women4Cyber, we will support her free mentorship of 1,000 women across Europe by April 2025. She also set a goal for her 15% of each mentorship cohort to be comprised of women from underrepresented backgrounds.
“As the world leader in consumer cyber safety, Gen has a mission to create solutions that enable people to live their digital lives securely, privately and confidently,” said Gen's Chief Executive Officer. CEO Vincent Pillet said. “As part of this mission, we are also deeply invested in closing the cybersecurity skills and talent gap in the European Union and globally. Through Women4Cyber, we are collaborating with other organizations to We value the opportunity to help develop cybersecurity skills and talent at all levels.”
Empowering women to succeed in cybersecurity
Gen is fulfilling our pledge through our exclusive sponsorship of the Women4Cyber Mentoring Program, which is open to women of all experience levels. The program pairs mentees with Gen and other corporate mentors for a six-month training program covering skill development and career advancement. Additional features include networking opportunities, supplemental webinars, and more.
Our pledge will raise the profile of our partnership with Women4Cyber, which begins in 2022 and includes an investment of $150,000 per year for three years. Since we started working together, this organization has mentored nearly 700 European women with her, many of whom have received direct mentorship from Gen team members. Hundreds more attend Women4Cyber events, webinars, and the annual W4C conference.

Driving change across the industry
As part of that pledge, Jen will also lead two public virtual roundtable discussions on women in IT more broadly, recognizing the critical need for change in the industry and the opportunities for growth that inclusion brings. We plan to increase this. This issue has long been a strategic focus for Gen, exemplified by our work with organizations such as Cecitas and the Nasscom Foundation, which upskill women with cyber skills in the Czech Republic and India, respectively.
“We are excited to continue our collaboration with Gen under the banner of the Official Pledge on the EU Cybersecurity Skills Academy,” said Nina Olesen, Chief Operating Officer of Women4Cyber. “With the help of experienced mentors and dedicated networking efforts, women can equip themselves with the tools to open doors in the job market while pursuing a career in cybersecurity. We hope it will act as a catalyst for ship and onboarding” in cyber at scale. ”
