The 2024 nominees for the World Video Game Hall of Fame have been announced by the Strong National Museum. This year's nomination list includes “Asteroids,'' “Elite,'' “Guitar Hero,'' “Metroid,'' “The Mist,'' “Neopets,'' “Resident Evil,'' “Tokimeki Memorial,'' and “Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.'' ”, “Ultima” and “You Don’t Know Jack”.
“This year’s finalists have the honor of competing for a spot in the 10th class of the World Video Game Hall of Fame.” John Paul C. Dyson, director of Strong's International Center for the History of Electronic Games, said in a statement announcing the nominees.
“Even after 10 years, there is no shortage of worthy candidates who have had a huge impact on pop culture and the gaming industry itself. Nominees have been announced and voting is open to the public to determine this year's Hall of Fame inductees. Voting will take place from March 14th to March 21st, and inductees will be announced at a ceremony on May 9th.
Games currently inducted into the Hall of Fame include Pong, Wii Sports, StarCraft, Animal Crossing, and more. All Hall of Fame games can be viewed on the official website.
The World Video Game Hall of Fame is located at the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York.
