Strategy game specialist Creative Assembly is reportedly developing a Total War Star Wars video game.
DualShockers reports that Total War: Star Wars is one of three new Total War games in development at the Sega-owned studio. IGN has reached out to Sega for comment.
Creative Assembly has endured some tough times in recent years, including the cancellation of its live service shooter Hyenas and poor sales of last year's Total War: Pharaoh.Studio too Apologies for various mistakes made with Total War: Warhammer 3 DLC.
In March, Sega announced significant layoffs affecting Sega Europe, Creative Assembly, and Sonic Dream Team developer Hardlight.Meanwhile, Sega offloaded Company of Heroes and Dawn of War developer Relic Entertainment
At the time, Sega told IGN that Creative Assembly “continues to develop multiple projects, including Total War and unannounced new projects.”
Total War fans have been asking Creative Assembly to try their hand at a Star Wars game for years, and we're hoping the studio will follow up the Warhammer trilogy of Total War games with a similar effort with Warhammer 40,000. The demands are equally loud.
