It's been more than a decade since EA Sports last released a College Football series of video games.
However, the changing landscape of college athletics has opened the door for the game to return this summer with the arrival of EA Sports College Football 25. The game will launch worldwide on July 19th on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and, for the first time, will feature players from 134 schools in the Football Bowl Subdivision.
To commemorate this event, EA Sports released two versions of the game cover: Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition. It features three current college football stars: Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, and Colorado wide receiver/defenseman Travis Hunter. . Originally from West Palm Beach.
“Donovan, Quinn and Travis are extraordinary talents who moved and entertained millions of college football fans on the field last season, and are ready to do so again this year,” said EA Sports Senior said Darryl Holt, vice president and group general manager. statement. “We're proud to bring thousands of current athletes to College Football 25, and to feature this trio of playmakers and their iconic college programs on the cover is an honor. , a perfect fit to usher in a new era for EA Sports and college football.”
Edwards led the University of Michigan to a national championship last season, the program's 12th overall title and first since 1997. Edwards, a Michigan native, had two touchdown runs of 40 yards or more in the title game, becoming the first player in College Football Playoff history to do so. Great feat.
“EA Sports games are legendary and seeing myself on the cover of College Football 25 is truly surreal,” Edwards said. “It's an honor to continue the tradition by joining Michigan's past greats as cover athletes for EA Sports' college football games.”
Ewers rushed for 3,479 yards and 22 touchdowns for the Longhorns last season, leading Texas to the Big 12 Championship.
“It's an honor to represent Burnt Orange on the real and virtual grid. An EA Sports game was the first place I realized my childhood dream of playing for the Longhorns, and now I'm in college. “Being on the cover of Football 25 is a full circle moment,” Ewers said.
Hunter signed with Jackson State as the top recruit in the 2022 recruiting class. He was named the SWAC Freshman of the Year before entering the transfer portal and following head coach Deion Sanders to Colorado. Hunter led the Buffaloes in interceptions (3) and was second on the team in receiving yards (721), earning him second-team All-Pac-12 honors.
“I couldn't be more excited to be a part of College Football 25 and represent the Buffaloes on the cover of the game,” Hunter said. “I can’t wait to play and watch the game for myself, my teammates and my school.”
College Football 25 is produced at EA Orlando Studios. It's the same studio that also produces Madden NFL and his NBA Live.
EA Sports is expected to announce more details about the game on Friday and throughout the summer. Fans can pre-order the standard and deluxe editions.
