camden, arkansas (KTVE/KARD) — We at KTVE/KARD are celebrating National Police Week in Akramis by highlighting local police officers.
May 15 was designated Peace Officers Day by President John F. Kennedy in 1962. The week that May 15th fell into ended up being Police Week. Our viewing areas are filled with police officers who fight crime and fraud every day. Many people lost their lives in the line of duty.
Today, we honor them by sharing their stories. Camden Police Department law enforcement officers work to create a positive environment for the city and its citizens. For Officer Ashley Watts, that means setting a good example for others to follow.
I didn't like what I saw about law enforcement in the media, so I thought I could do things another way. I always have a personal touch when dealing with people and try to empathize and empathize with them. So I'm Sergeant Watts, but I'm also Ashley. I have a family. And it's really about community. The community is the police. And the police are the community. If you're going to do this job, do it for a good reason. Please stop as the power is out. I do it because I want to help people.
