Get ready for a busy holiday on the roads and in the skies this Memorial Day weekend. AAA predicts that 43.8 million Americans will travel more than 50 miles from home.
“We haven't seen this much of a Memorial Day weekend travel experience in the last 20 years,” Paula Tweedale, senior vice president of AAA Travel, said in a statement. “We expect an additional 1 million more people to travel this weekend compared to 2019. Not only does this mean we are above pre-pandemic levels, but it also marks the arrival of a very busy summer travel season. It means to.”
AAA considers Memorial Day weekend to be Thursday through Monday.
