The World Video Game Hall of Fame awarded its 10th annual honor. Among his five titles in this year's Hall of Fame, some of the better-known titles include: resident evil and sim city. Yes, this year was definitely a classic. Other members who joined this year are: asteroid, mistand altima.Previous year's Hall of Fame inductees include: the last of us In 2023, Final Fantasy VII 2018 and world of warcraft In 2015.
The World Video Game Hall of Fame is managed by the Strong Institute, an interactive, collection-based institution dedicated to the study of play. The Hall of Fame serves as one of its “play partners” and works with the International Center for the History of Electronic Games to focus specifically on video games rather than other forms of play. The roster they added this year will only strengthen their ranks.
resident evilReleased in 1996, it is often considered to have spawned not only a successful franchise, but the survival horror genre as a whole. Players take on the role of members of the Special Tactical Rescue Service (STARS) as they investigate a mountain mansion infested with genetically modified monsters.
sim cityReleased in 1989, this game is also the first in a long series. It is also one of the most enduring simulators and is considered the beginning of city simulators that exist today. In this game, players adopt a bird's eye view and try to build and maintain a working modern city.
asteroidis an arcade multi-directional arcade shooter game released in 1979 and a response to Atari's Space Invaders. What was unique was that the game sold very well outside of arcades, becoming a mainstay game for home consoles and helping to transition from arcade games to home console games.
mistis an adventure game released in 1993 in which players are transported to a mysterious Myst Island via a book. Once there, exploration takes you to different “eras” and reveals the backstory of the island and its inhabitants, helping players make decisions.
finally altimais a role-playing video game released in 1981 in which the player inserts a character who is summoned to the world of Sosaria to destroy an immortal gem being used by an evil wizard.
All of these games are officially part of the World Video Game Hall of Fame and are in very good hands.
